I liked it much more. The film became about following Ron-Harry and the Trio as opposed to the previous focus on the inexplicable Hermione-Harry.
They did play down the role that money played in the fight, but I still thought they did it pretty well. My stomach sank with the whoole Dragon's thing but in the end it all worked out ok.
Got to love the Rupert :)

I was completely blown away by how much better the characterisation was in GoF than PoA. The fight between Ron and Harry was realistic without making Ron out like a prat. They did focus on the betrayal part rather than jealousy which was better and more Ron-like. Also, other key Ron moments weren't dumbed down which I was eternally grateful for. Rupert was fantastic and seemed to be a little more subtle in the delivery of his lines [mostly funny ones] which made them even more effective. There were a few OOC moments but overall the true trio [rather than: duo + comic relief] started to make a come back - yay! All in all, pretty good :)

I thought it was wonderful damage control. He actually had emotions and a spark of human intelligence. Rupert did a good job with the little they gave him.

After a prompt from Hippie Girl I thought I'd make a post. I've revamped the look a bit and am hunting around for a fanartist to draw a background picture (I've contacted two and asked my own flist but if anyone else has an artist they'd like to suggest or wants to take a stab at it themselves then feel free). I'd also like to get a header up and then pimp it like crazy.

So, what did you all think of GoF!Ron?
Personally I thought he was much better than in PoA (though I had issues with the tone of delivery of his line about never having a normal year at Hogwarts). I was especially surprised that Rupert seemed to play Ron as more betrayed than jealous (or at least a combination of the two) rather than just jealous during the Ron/Harry fight. It's not an interpretation that's all that common so I was very pleasently surprised to see it there.
